Without a doubt, the main attraction in Calpe is its two blue flag beaches, the Playa Levante and the Playa Del Arenal, both situated either side of the magnificent ‘Peñon de Ifach’, which rises 332 metres from the Mediterranean Sea. The fantastic weather is also a pull for many who have chosen to settle here.

Calpe is a dream come true for outdoor enthusiasts, or even those who simply want to relax on the beach:

Beaches in Calpe
Calpe’s main two beaches are the Playa Levante (La Fossa) and Playa Del Arenal (Bol), which allow plenty of space to play sports, relax, or spend time with friends and family.

There are also Coves to explore in this area, including the Playa Del Cantal Roig, located in the Harbour and the Playa del Puerto Blanco, with plenty of shaded spots.

Water sports in Calpe
Calpe is a paradise for water sports.  Some of the activities on offer are: kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing, SUP (Stand Up Paddle), kite surfing, diving, and jet skiing. For more information you can see Calpe Online 24.

Walking and Cycling
With impeccable and (mostly) unspoilt road surfaces, the stunning mountain ranges along the Costa Blanca coastline, provide plenty of opportunity for cyclists. Some of the busier roads also have cycling lanes, around 2m wide, to make your journey safer.

For walkers, The Peñón de Ifach is visited by many people each year, and is worth climbing even if you are not a seasoned hiker. There is also the option to take different routes, depending on your level of fitness or preference at the time. The rock also offers stunning scenery at the top, with plenty of wildlife and plant life to witness. Additionally, there is the Calpe U3A Walking Group, which meets at 09:45 each Wednesday at the car park by the C.P. Azorin School – based just behind the Tennis Club.

Dining in Calpe
Calpe offers an abundance of restaurants – here we offer just a few suggestions:

Puerto Blanco, situated just next to the small La Canuta Harbour, is one of the better known restaurants in this area.

For access, follow the sign for Mar y Villa, turn right on the small roundabout opposite Guardia, and follow the road down for 1km until you reach the sharp right bend with the harbour directly in front. For more information, you can call 965830977, or go directly to their website.

Casa Del Marco, based in the hills above Calpe Pou Roig-Lleus, serves French-Belgian cuisine, with stunning views across the town. For access, follow the N332 road towards Beniss, after the small garden centre on the left and just before the bridge with a left gradient turn, turn left up a single track road for 2km where you will see signs. For more information, contact them at (0034) 965 73 28 42, or check their website.

La Viña de Calpe is an old-fashioned restaurant that serves traditional Spanish and European cuisine. Located on the right side of the Merced road, with the Hotel Esmeralda to your back, take the road with the red and white speed bumps for 500 metres until you see the restaurant on the right hand side. To contact them by telephone, call: 965830955, or visit their website.

Calpe has a thriving calendar for fiestas throughout the year. Click here to see the full range of fiestas on offer.
